Affective forecasts are people's predictions of their future feelings in response to events. In this study, based on the self-determination theory (SDT), we examined whether satisfying basic psychological needs influence undergraduates' affective forecasting and moderating role subjective socioeconomic status (SES). With a total 423 undergraduate participants (177 males, 246 females), through one pilot study three experiments, first manipulated participants' need satisfaction, i.e., autonomy satisfaction (study 1), competence 2), relatedness 3), then asked low-SES high-SES participants, respectively, predict pleasantness particular new product evaluated actual experience with product. Results showed that effect was not significant. When for satisfied, impact bias greater high SES than low SES. Conversely, when conclusion, moderated increasing forecasting.
